Düsseldorf is located in the western part of Germany, directly on river Rhine and it is the state capital and political and economic center of the federal state Northrhine-Westfalia with 600.000 inhabitants. Düsseldorf is well-known for a rich cultural program from music, opera, classical and contemporary art to modern architecture and many opportunities to enjoy life in the "Altstadt", the old city, with numerous bars, breweries, restaurants and cafés.

The conference will take place on campus of Heinrich Heine University (HHU), a young university that just celebrated its 50th anniversary. HHU is excellently connected by bus, tram and subway and the center of the city can be reached in 10-15 min. Düsseldorf Airport is the third largest airport in Germany and many flights from and to numerous locations in Europe, North America and Asia are readily available. The airport can be reached from HHU by public transportation in less than 45 min.
